Witches 18U Gold

 

    Manager: Shawn Allen

For many years, the Witches 18U Gold team has been led by manager Shawn Allen.  Shawn has had a long history of helping girls achieve their goal of playing at the college level.  In recent years the Witches have placed numerous players in top Division I, II and III programs, including Mississippi State (SEC), St. John’s (Big East) and UPenn (Ivy).

Witches 18U Elite

   

   Manager: Alyssa Silipino

Alyssa comes to the Witches organization with extensive knowledge as both a player and coach.  She has been coaching in the competitive travel ball circuit since 2014 and has coached at the 18U and under gold level for the last two seasons.  She was the assistant varsity coach at Hammonton High School from 2014 to 2016.  She has since moved on to the next level and is starting her second season as an assistant coach at Stockton University.  She also has experience coaching various NFCA sponsored camps, training sessions and individual offensive and defensive lessons.    She was a former Witch, playing for Shawn Allen and Jeff Millington from 2007-2010, and a four year letter winner at Hammonton High School, contributing to her teams Cape Atlantic League Championships in 2007,2008, and 2009.  Alyssa continued her softball career in college playing 4 years at the Division I level while at Mount Saint Marys.  

Aside from softball, Alyssa recieved her Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education at The Mount.  She is currently entering her fourth year as a Special Education teacher at Hammonton Middle School.  

 

Witches 18U Black

 

   Manager: Mike Lawrence

This is Mikes third season with the organization.  This season Mike will manage the 18U Witches.  He will be supported by parent volunteers and paid professional trainers

 

Witches 14U Futures

   

   Manager: Meghan McDonald

Meg will lead the Witches 14U Futures team in 2019-2020.  Meg  was offered an athletic scholarship by the University of Maryland in 2007, but chose to attend Stockton College instead.  Before her playing career began there, she underwent career-ending hip surgery.  Prior to college, Meghan was the starting catcher for Bordentown Regional High School for four years where she earned “player of the week” accolades multiple times, broke the record for most hits in a season, and led her team to back to back NJ Central Group II championships in 2006 and 2007.  Meghan was named “Female Athlete of the Year” during her senior year at Bordentown.

Meg played travel ball with the West Jersey Witches from 1999 until 2005, then one year with the Jersey Monsters before returning to the Witches for the 2006-07 season.  Meghan was a catcher and shortstop.  At Stockton, Meghan stayed involved in softball, serving as a team manager for the spring season.

Meghan currently is a teaching assistant for a private special needs school, and is taking classes to become a special needs teacher.

 

     Assistant Coach:  Jamie Glassman

Jamie was an All-Ivy League shortstop at the University of Pennsylvania, where she still holds Top 10 All-time records in batting average, hitting streak, rbi/yr, and hits/yr, despite only playing a freshman season.  In high school, Jamie led the Peddie School to four consecutive Prep A State Championships, and was chosen First Team All-State Prep four times and First Team All-Area three times. She was also named the Trenton Times and Trentonian area Player of the Year in 2008. She registered a career batting average of .560 with 15 homeruns.
Jamie played with the Witches for two years, including the 2002 12U team that went 63-6 and placed in the final four at PONY Nationals. In her 18U season she participated in the ASA 18U Gold National Tournament in Oklahoma City with the Nightmare Gold.
These days Jamie plays co-ed slowpitch with her husband, Matt, who was an Academic All-American baseball player at Stevens Institute of Technology. They pass along their love of softball to their two small children, Mia and Trey.

Witches 14U Black

 

Manager: Katie Schuh

This year will be  Katie's 7th season as a professional manager with the Witches organization. This season she will be the manager for the 14U Witches Black.  Katie played softball at Rancocas Valley Regional High School for four years as an outfielder/second baseman where she graduated from in 2009. At RV she was a part of the 2007 team to win the Central Jersey Group IV championship. After high school Coach Katie went on to play all four years at Kean University as a starting outfielder/second baseman. Coach Katie was a contributor to winning back to back NJAC championships in 2010 and 2011. While at Kean she earned NJAC rookie of the week twice in 2010, named to the All-NJAC Second Team in 2011 and the All-NJAC First Team in 2013, and  named Kean's Woman of the Year in 2014.
 
Aside from  Katie's softball playing career, she has coached numerous age groups from 10U to 18U, as well as high school JV at WWP-South H.S. and Varsity at Montgomery High School. Katie has a real passion for the game and enjoys passing her knowledge down to the girls she coaches, as well as watching the girls improve over the course of a season.
 
Witches 14U White

 

Manager: Kaley Wise

Witches 14 White will be led by  Kaley Wise.  Kaley pitched for her HS team bring the team to the Group III State Championships. She continued pitching at Mercer Community College being named All American and helping to bring the team to the DII JUCO World Series. She later played at Chestnut Hill College where she holds the record for wins in a single season.
